Poems - Seven Divine Virtues - Humilitas
Oh a gentle soul
Softly spoken
Eager heart and mind to please
Sit ye here,
To heed unspoken
Knowledge passed
From you to me
Here, we students
Minds open
Wait to hear
Of thoughts, opinions
Academics spoken
Young and thoughtful
Ever learning
Not passive though
This timid heart
She'll aim to speak
So know her mind
Young thoughts
They need your nurture
To grow strong
Knowledge
Wisdom
Merely Seeds
Shall grow
One has faith in her
Devotion
And your patronage
These eyes seek a lesson
From a worthy teacher
Place their faith in you
Will watch
And learn
Be not bitter
Humbled by what you knew
Knows she only needs to
learn this lesson
Affirm that doubtful
voice in time
That we all fall from grace
Should not be such a crime
Redemption is ever for the humble
For those who have
Much still to learn
Know the mighty Oak
May fall
Yet immortality springs forth
From humble seeds
Thou, shall rise again
Softly spoken
Eager heart and mind to please
Sit ye here,
To heed unspoken
Knowledge passed
From you to me
Here, we students
Minds open
Wait to hear
Of thoughts, opinions
Academics spoken
Young and thoughtful
Ever learning
Not passive though
This timid heart
She'll aim to speak
So know her mind
Young thoughts
They need your nurture
To grow strong
