Love Poems - A loaf of bread
Lonely soul
This simple girl
As she wanders through the desert
Carries with her
A loaf of bread
Aimlessly
Here
There
Forever moving
Never stopping
Lost, yet unwilling to retrace a step
Birds
Wings like fans
Shade on occassion for her figure
The burning sun
Circle lazily
But they spy her bread
For which they hunger
Grains of sand no staple
Fail to satisfy
Barren stomachs
Swoop
Swoop
Here
There
A small soul falters
Pieces of bread
Stolen
Here
There
Who would notice?
Such a small price to pay
But journey with no destination
Like this soul is on
An eternity of wandering, not noting what has gone
Small pieces
Soon seem larger
A girl with hands palm open
No bread is left to clasp
Sheds a tear unspoken
Fearing how she will last
Yet she will learn a lesson
The birds alone could teach
A soul needs no bread
To carry is but a burden
Deny her though
This token
Empty hands feel weak
She'd rather have the burden
Than know she'd need not eat.
